2008 UK Fashion Export Awards Offers Stands At Key International Fashion Exhibitions

UK Fashion Exports (UKFE) has attracted a number of high value prizes for winners of this year’s Export Awards, due to be held at Landmark London on 5th June 2008. Entry forms for the Awards are now available.

The prize list for the UK Fashion Export Awards includes stands at a number of overseas exhibitions as well as financial support and global trade advice worth £20,000 provided by FedEx and a subscription to on-line fashion information service WGSN. For the first time stands at So Ethic in Paris, Mother Baby & Child in Dubai and Moda Menswear in Birmingham are being offered, as well as space at Prêt à Porter Paris or The Train New York, Mode City Paris & Interfilière and Pure Accessories in London.

Being shortlisted for, or even winning, one of these Awards, is a great boost to company morale and tells the world that the company is an international player.The Awards are designed to reward companies, irrespective of size, who have demonstrated export excellence. This year’s industry judging panel will be looking for winners in eight categories – Menswear; Men’s Accessories; Womenswear; Women’s Accessories; Childrenswear; Ethical Fashion; Lingerie/Beach Fashion; and New Exporter. The Exporter of the Year Award, sponsored by Landsbanki, and the Export Personality of the Year Award will be nominated by the industry. Marks and Spencer, longstanding member and one of the UK’s most significant retail exporters, also supports the event with sponsorship. HRH The Princess Royal, President of UK Fashion Exports, will present the Awards. All finalists will receive a free ticket to the Awards lunch at The Landmark London on 5 June 2008.

Closing date for entries is 10 March 2008 Companies such as Aquascutum, Ben Sherman, Berlei, Dents, figleaves.com, Frank Usher, Goat, Gossard, Henri-Lloyd, Janet Reger, John Smedley, Links of London, Mulberry, Orla Kiely, Panache, Sara Berman, Sarah Arnett, Tickitty Boo, Speedo, Start-Rite, Tateossian, The Duffer of St George, Vivienne Westwood are among more than 220 companies that have benefited from winning an Award over the past 22 years.
