What shape do you want your fashion style to be?

We have all seen them, “Do I look good naked, Extreme Makeover, Trinny and Susannah” and many more very entertaining but arguably irrelevant to the plight of the average woman waking up in the morning and thinking how much time do I have to get dressed and ready before the children are up? This would be immediately followed by the myriad of jobs that have to be done whilst desperately trying to style a look to equal a 20 something that has just walked onto the set of a photo shoot in Milan at sunrise.

Can it really be done? The short answer is YES with a personal stylist, hairdresser and a decent bank balance. That is out of the question for most however the good news is that it doesn’t have to be that hard.

The starting point is a basic understanding of body shape or to be more precise your own. Then move onto colours that best suit your complexion and only then will you be ready to start finding styles that best shape you. I know what you are thinking “that is easy for you to say. How do I do that without employing an expensive stylist and on a budget?” One simple way is to use free services that are already available, for example: www.istylista.com.

Yukka is your route to fashion from the streets

Way back in 2003, Yukka’s founder, Robby Sur (Online Fashion Top 100, 2010), spotted a demand for G-Unit T shirts, as worn by 50 Cent who had the world’s biggest selling album at the time. Having sourced a supplier and created Yukka! A seed was planted and Yukka started to grow.

From it’s humble beginnings Yukka has grown from selling a few hot t-shirts online, to becoming the UK’s leading independent retailer of the hottest and most exclusive product from the urban and streetwear fashion genres. Yukka now stocks in excess of 100 brands and 2500 of the hippest products!

2010 October Organic clothing and Tshirt collection

Organic clothing

The new 2010 collection from October Textiles Ltd will not only see the introduction of new garments and fresh photography, the new look book, features the first in a series of both Organic and Sustainable products.

The ORGANIC COTTON label by October is a stock collection of the highest quality blank garments produced in 100% pure organically grown cotton. It is certified by the Control Union World Group, to the Organic Exchange 100 guidelines and the Skal International standards for sustainable textile production, which verify conformity with organic regulations of Europe, Japan and the United States. The cotton is cultivated in the Aegean region, wholly without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, in “Living Soil” that has been free from any toxic substances for at least 3 years and enriched by organic compost and other organic matter. This means that the soil and water supply are cleaner, which in turn protects the local population and wildlife. The resulting cotton fiber is processed into fabric without the use of harmful chemicals or bleach.

October Textiles Ltd offers both undyed and dyed organic cotton items, and to achieve organic certification only azo-free dyes that meet the requirements of the Global Organic Standard are used in the dyeing process.

The SUSTAINABLE label centers round naturally sustainable BAMBOO which is gaining popularity in the fashion world due to its light, almost translucent yarn that has a natural quality that feels like silk, but with the practical advantage of being machine-washable.

This natural fiber is hypoallergenic, absorbent, and is naturally anti-bacterial so will not hold odor. It also is the most sustainable of the natural fibers, reaching a mature height of 75 feet in just 45 to 60 days. And, because of its natural antibacterial properties, it needs no pesticides.

It regenerates naturally through an extensive root system that sends out an average of four to six new shoots per year and can be harvested repeatedly.

Finally, when your bamboo garment finishes its useful life, it can return to nourish the earth, as it is 100% biodegradable.

“We are simply following in the footsteps of other forward thinking companies that are trying to lessen the impact they have on the environment. We’re not here to preach or convert – just to do what we can to conduct our business responsibly and encourage others in our market to do the same”.

OCTOBER PRINT CARL FROCH T-SHIRTS FOR ONE TRUE SAXON

Well quite a night was had by all at the Trent Fm Arena on Saturday when Britain’s Finest, Carl “The Cobra” Froch fought and successfully beat Andre Dirrell. Carl and the whole Team Froch Crew were completely kitted out by ONETrueSaxon®, along with many, many very passionate fans who had don’d their Team Froch limited edition T’s. ONETrueSaxon have produced the Team Froch Official Merchandise and created their ‘Super Six Printed T’s’ to celebrate Mr Froch’s inclusion to the tornament, which are available now from ONETrueSaxon.Com

Carl was finally allowed to enter the ring around 2.40 Sunday morning to a reception fit for a conquering hero, which of course he is. Flanked by his brothers Lee and Wayne with the WBC Super Middle Weight belt held aloft, Carl swaggered to the ring adorned by his OTS designed gown featuring the brand new Team Froch logo heavily embroidered across the back, once in the ring and once the deafening cheers and “Welcome to the jungle,” by Guns n Roses had died down, he revealed those shorts!

The shorts had been 9 weeks in the making, from initial sketch on a “post it” whilst having a chat with him, to CAD layouts and then to final heavily detailed hand guided embroidery. Featuring on the right leg our very own British bulldog “Winston” and the ONETrueSaxon logo, and then underlined by the OTS tagline which has become synonymous with Froch “Undisputed . . . NEVER DEFEATED” The back of the shorts were equally as impressive. They featured the redesigned CF Union Crest and flanked by two striking cobras in silvers and grey.

Carl, his corner men and his team certainly looked the part and certainly didn’t disappoint once the action got underway, true Dirrell came to spoil the fight by holding, complaining and skipping backwards to avoid Carl letting go of the “tools of the trade”, his fists, you could see how nervous he was but this was because he knew he was no match for Carl’s power. Carl’s win was no surprise and now he marches on to meet Kessler in Copenhagen in the spring,.

However, before that he has the less dangerous but equally exciting task of becoming ‘The Face of OTS’. He will be featured in the new Spring Summer 10 Product Guide and the Advertising for the next year. We’re all admirers of Carl not only in the ring but how he deports himself in general. A truer Gent we’ve never met and as such he’s a great fit for the understated but powerful style which is part and part of our Brand’s DNA.

Things look very positive for ‘the Cobra’ and very positive for ONETrueSaxon®

“ We make a living out of what we get, we make a life out of what we give.” Winston Churchill.
( the man not the dog). Carl gives his all and is the very epitome of Onetruesaxon®
