Chateau Roux roux-in the new England football shirt

In the name of charity, Loaded magazine asked a selection of top labels to redesign the new Umbro England football shirt. In typical Chateau Roux style, we roux-ind the shirt with an amazing ‘Three Lions’ inspired designed and shot it with a 12-bore shotgun! and printed by October Textiles Ltd.

ABOUT LOADED’S CHARITY AUCTION!
As Umbro unveiled their razor-sharp new England kit, style-experts waffled on about how the simple white shirt carried ‘traditional values of classic tailoring’. Loaded just saw a blank canvas on which to wreak merry havoc. And so we asked England’s hottest, coolest and newest designers to make their mark. Within days, these cats had ripped, sewed, applied graffiti and in one case fired a twelve-bore shotgun at fabric, to bring you these works of football art. Even better, the whole lot is up for grabs. If you fancy one of these nifty designs, get your wallet out and bid because all the cash is going to The PSP Association, for people with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. ABOUT CHATEAU ROUX SHIRT!
Soho-based Chateau Roux are best known for their beautifully soft, bespoke, hand printed garments – oh, and their eccentric imagination. Who else uses fabrics such as bamboo to create their tees, or a shotgun? The Chateau Roux ‘England on Safari’ shirt was inspired by next year’s World Cup in South Africa. The design incorporates the iconic Three Lions using the triangles and bold shapes for which Chateau Roux are renowned, then the shirt was finished off using their not-patent-pending Shot Blast Air System, which is created by opening up a 12-bore shotgun onto it…They’re geniuses. Dangerous, dangerous geniuses.

HERE COME THE SUGABABES T-SHIRTS

From the Chateau Roux Design Department, through the October T-shirt Print Laboratories, and on to the Sugababes.

It’s not surprising they went for this t-shirt – made from a modal t-shirt fabric it’s extremely soft and light, and so a good choice for performance. The fine gauge of the t-shirt does create an issue when the design requires a foil application.

A thin covering of screen printed adhesive is used, followed a by a very fine layer of heat applied foil – that way the t-shirt continues to move in a soft and fluid way even around the graphic….as the Sugababes beautifully demonstrate.

Living proof…..

As those who keep a close eye on the fashion press will already know, Soho based Chateau Roux have received a fair few column inches with reference to their individually shot gunned clothing. Understandably we have been asked by the curious amongst you, ‘Does that really happen, surely the clothing isn’t actually shot’. Well there was only one way to prove it – the Chateau boys put on their stencilled up camo jackets and let the film crew know where it all goes on – here’s the result – now do you believe it?

A T-shirt isn’t just for Christmas

Chateau Roux’s new shop

Christmas is upon us and it’s time for last minute shopping. Last year I was fortunate enough to receive some chocolate mints and a thermos flask, and the year before I became the happy owner of a male grooming kit. In an attempt to avoid the crimes of previous years, I would like to draw the attention of my London friends to the opening of Chateau Roux’s new shop at 17 Newburgh Street. Before you say it I realise that October screen print the T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoods etc, but it seems unreasonable of you to ask me to print my own present. So, you know what I want and you know where to get it – now get your smoky selves down Carnaby Street, hang a left, and don’t stop to buy any dodgy knitwear on the way…..that dealt with, everyone here at October would like to wish all of you a safe and warm festive session – to all the people we’ve printed and embroidered for it’s been a pleasure, and a big thanks for the work. Look forward to seeing you all again next year and remember, a T-shirt isn’t just for Christmas, it’s for life.

Chateau Roux – new v-neck T-shirts

Chateau Roux

Chateau Roux have launched a new range of deep v-neck T-shirts. In the usual ultra soft modal fabrics they’re available in black, white and khaki, with both standard fabric options, and in line with the Shotguns in Soho graphics there is also a heavy distress effect. Soft fabrics need light textured screen printing, so October have used water based inks and have also printed a very lightweight foil – even where this is applied over the v-neck detail, texture has been kept to a minimum, making this a very wearable T.
